It's kinda funny how this stuff happens. One company, who is doing fairly well, comes along and starts calling their product line "poopy clothing". I'm just using that as an example of course. Now, the term "poopy" has nothing to do with anything. It does not represent the clothing but for some reason this company thinks it's a good idea. Or, even worse, they think that people are searching this phrase to find clothing like this. You know and I know this is crazy. But, what starts happening is other sites who sell similar products see that this company is using this phrase. So, they think they need to start using this phrase. Before you know it there is a whole genre of clothing on the internet that is referred to as "poopy clothing".
I think "punk baby clothes" is one of these terms. Someone a few years back thought.... hmmmm.... "punk was cool thirty years ago. Let's call it that!" Now, if I want to compete with these companies for these rediculous terms in 2009 I have to talk about "punk baby clothes". The whole thing is kind of silly. But, I suppose it's not as silly as having to optimize my website for the phrase"poopy clothing". Now, that would suck.
My name is Jay Stueve. I go by "thecrazybaby" on twitter if you like what I have to say.
